About Us II
I'm not a fan of the spotlight, nor am I the artist or the equine expert that Marsha is (why my job is very much behind the scenes, I edit and write copy and work on visual layout...but here goes : ) I met Marsha as an undergraduate at arguably the nation's best equine college, she was a professor and I was a terrified 18-year-old with a deep seeded passion for horses. Originally a pre-vet teacher/trainer double major, for a variety of reasons I quickly decided to change my major to psychology. It took 20 +years for me to reconnect with Marsha, who has been nothing more than a spiritual mother, mentor, trainer, and beloved friend when I was in the place I most needed one of the above, not to mention all. I drove across the country from Western NY to Northern AZ with nothing more than I could fit in my Honda CRV, but I followed my heart and it was hands down the best decision I've ever made. I'm currently completing my doctorate in child psychology, but I find it fascinating to compare human/child development with the foals we're raising. I have a very unorthodox method, but as you will get to see in future posts, it's working for us. I'm also a full-time student, full-time French bulldog nanny, horse trainer in training, and farm manager, and am hoping to take my riding to the next level with our boys in the competition world. I bring absolute passion to everything I do, and I also bring sardonic humor. I can't wait to share more of our incredible journeys with all of you!
